Access to the Irving Kristol Papers is granted only to researchers possessing the written approval of the donor, or the donor's designee, until January 1, 2025. At that time the collection will become available for public access without restriction.

Copyrights to public materials will reside with National Affairs, Inc. or other copyright holders. For any other unpublished materials in the collection, to which the donor holds copyright, those rights will terminate with the expiration of the access restrictions and will then be managed by the Wisconsin Historical Society.

Formerly the Wisconsin Historical Society holdings included a separate but related collection titled The Public Interest Records, 1964-1970 (U.S. Mss 106AF). In 2008 these records were integrated into the Irving Kristol Papers.
