Records of retail pharmaceutical businesses in Wisconsin, Indiana, New York, and South Carolina, consisting of prescription registers and financial records. Prescription registers, which primarily document firms in Madison, Wisconsin (1859-1907); Charleston, South Carolina (1868-1882); New York City (1859-1923); and Indianapolis, Indiana (1870-1905) consist of microfilmed scrapbooks of physicians' handwritten prescription slips. Most extensively documented are the New York City pharmacy Ewen McIntyre & Son and the Madison firm Dunning & Sumner. Records of the latter firm also include daybooks, ledgers, and other miscellaneous financial records covering the period 1859-1914. English
