Abstract:
Papers of Donald E. Francke, a distinguished American pharmacist and editor of several publications. As chief pharmacist for several large university hospital pharmacies and editor and publisher of several pharmacy journals, Francke was concerned with drug nomenclature, professional ethics, and drug information. From 1944 to 1963, Francke worked to improve pharmacy school curricula and the image and education of hospital pharmacists. Francke was also active in numerous professional organizations, and advocated establishing international ties among pharmacists. The collection includes correspondence, conference materials from European meetings and study missions, extensive materials on FIP conferences, 1953-1977, including copies of papers given at the Press and Documentation section meetings, speeches, research files, and writings.
