Scope and Content Note

The records of Oakland CORE for the time period 1962-1965 are fragmentary and were originally scattered throughout the papers of CORE's Western Regional Office. They include a copy of the amended constitution and minutes of a meeting, 1963; announcements, agendas, and minutes of meetings of the Alameda Human Relations Commission; newsletters and correspondence of the West Oakland Freedom House; several reports on the state of integration in the Oakland public schools; and one folder concerning discriminatory employment grievances.
