Scope and Content Note

These papers include general and personal correspondence, then correspondence, reports, and occasional clippings, lists, and other items arranged alphabetically by subject titles. A variety of CORE projects form these subjects: voter registration in Florida; a boycott of Mississippi businesses denying employment to Negroes; the fund-raising Freedom Hat project; Council of Federated Organizations activities in Mississippi; and miscellaneous activities in Louisiana. Of special interest is a summary of incidents found in the Louisiana folder.

Included in the folder of personal correspondence is correspondence with the Community and Social Agency Employees Union, Local 1707 (AFL/CIO) and a 1965 letter from Congressman John V. Lindsay decrying treatment of demonstrators in Selma, Alabama.
