Access Restrictions

There are no access restrictions and the collection is open to all members of the public in accordance with state law. However, researchers wishing to view newsfilm not transferred to an access copy must make arrangements with the UW-Milwaukee Libraries / Milwaukee Area Research Center prior to their visit.

Use Restrictions

WTMJ-TV retains ownership of its copyright to all material in the collection, but grants to the Wisconsin Historical Society and UW-Milwaukee a limited, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to reproduce the material for non-commercial, scholarly or educational purposes. Researchers who receive copies must sign a Use and Indemnification Agreement. Use of the newsfilm by another commercial television station requires prior written consent from WTMJ-TV, which the station may withhold at its discretion.

Acquisition Information

The paper records were presented to the Wisconsin Historical Society in the 1960s. Accession Number: MCHC64-096, MCHC65-084, MCHC68-023, MCHC70-049, MCHC76-018, and MCHC67-144. The newsfilm was presented by WTMJ-TV to the Wisconsin Historical Society in October 2001. Accession Number: M2004-163 Additional records and photographs were presented by WTMJ-TV in October 2003. Processing Information

The collection was processed at the Milwaukee Area Research Center from Fall 2001 to June 2007.
