Abstract:

Records of the Association and its predecessors, the Merchants Association, the Merchants and Manufacturers Association, and the Milwaukee Association of Commerce, documenting their efforts to support the city's economic welfare and the development of commercial and civic enterprises. Included are minutes of the board of directors and various committees concerning activities such as endorsing political candidates, tax revision efforts, anti-shoplifting campaigns, youth job programs, support for professional sports, and work in the areas of energy, transportation, and school desegregation.
