Access Restrictions

The collection is restricted as stipulated in the Privacy Act of 1974, 5 U.S. Code, Section 552 (a). However, the Office of the Dean of Students has extended to the Archives its permission to provide access to redacted copies of restricted records, following guidelines established by the Office of Legal Affairs and the UWM records custodian. The preservation copies of the student organization directories are restricted. Please see an archivist for more information.

Acquisition Information

Student Organization Advising and Resources transferred accessions in 1998 (1998-031), April 1999 (1998-050), June 1999 (1998-063 and 1998-065), 1999 or 2000 (1999-068), September 2000 (2000-018), March 2001 (2000-033), March 2002 (2001-093), April 2003 (2002-077), March 2004 (2003-073), October 2008 (2008-032), and June 2009 (2008-071). The Center for Student Involvement donated additional materials in September 2011 (accession 2011-010) and in March 2013 (accession 2012-048). Student Involvement transferred additional materials in Summer 2014 (accession 2013-057), Summer 2015 (accession 2015-003), and August 2016 (accession 2016-006).

Jeannine Strunk processed accession 1998-031 in December 1998-January 1999. In December 2000, Chan Harries added accessions 1998-050, 1998-063, 1998-065, 1999-068, and 2000-018.
