Community United Church of Christ (Elkhart Lake, Wis.) Records, 1863-1983

Scope and Content Note

In 1937, St. John's Evangelical Church and Trinity Reformed Church, both of Elkhart Lake, united to form the First Evangelical and Reformed Church, known today as the Community United Church of Christ. This collection contains record books of all three churches and includes baptism, marriage, and death records, minutes, cemetery association records, women's guild records, a 50th anniversary booklet of St. John's, and other records. Until the late 1930's, the entries are in German. Also included here are fragmentary records of St. John's Evangelical Church, Greenbush, and of Evangelical Peace Church, Plymouth. The relationship of these churches to the Elkhart Lake churches is unknown.

Though all four reels are assigned Milwaukee ARC call number Milwaukee Micro 19, the negatives bear different numbers depending on when they were produced. Reel 1 and 2 are Micro 761; Reel 3, Micro 1007; and Reel 4, Micro 1061.
