Account books
Scope and Content Note: These miscellaneous account and memoranda books are mainly records of personal daily cash accounts of John Van Nortwick. In a few volumes accounts are arranged by individual, rather than by date, and are indexed; and some others list individual accounts ant the rear, following the list of daily expenditures and receipts. The general account books have been placed in chronological order. In some cases there are gaps in the dates, while in others the dates may overlap from one volume to another. The volume numbers appearing on the film are arbitrary, and for the purposes of this film only. See appendix for details.
