Newsom also guided the philanthropic activities of many leaders and as a result was involved with organizations such as the American Heritage Foundation, Atoms for Peace, the Civilian Technical Corps, Colonial Williamsburg, Crusade for Freedom, the Ford Foundation, the Fund for the Republic, Jackson Hole National Monument, the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and the Rockefeller Foundation.
