Papers of Robert Kastenmeier, a longstanding Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives for Wisconsin's Second District, documenting his career in Congress (1959-1991). As a member of the House Judiciary Committee and Chairman of the Subcommittee on Courts, Civil Liberties, and the Administration of Justice, the papers reflect Kastenmeier's interests and work on copyright and patent laws, intellectual property rights, civil rights, civil liberties, the courts, criminal code, prison reform, and prisoners' rights.
