La Crosse Professional Baseball Association Financial Records, 1908-1912

Scope and Content Note

The collection includes a journal of accounts, listing payments to players and gate receipts, 1908-1910; a cash book, 1908- 1912; and a ledger, 1909-1912, recording bills payable, receipts and expenditures, players' salaries, and expenses incurred while traveling to games. The ledger also contains a note of salary paid to player Cy Young in 1910, perhaps referring to the famous major league pitcher who played for Cleveland from 1909 to 1911.
