The volume titled “Journal” contains orders and court findings.

The first case in Volume A, 1821- 1847 is that of Colonel John Bowyer, agent of Indian Affairs; the volume contains cases of many early settlers including members of the Dousman and Grignon families.

Volume C records actions in which guardians were appointed for racially mixed children according to the terms of the 1836 treaty between the United States and the Menominee Nation.
