Scope and Content Note: Correspondence, 1990-1998, of Robert McGrath, head of the Crime Information Bureau, primarily concerning the application of technology to the bureau’s functions such as improvements to TIME, the bureau's statewide computerized message center. Notable are correspondence, grant applications, meeting materials, and reports on participation in the federal government's “5% solution,” a provision of the Brady Handgun Act, which required the states to devote five percent of its block grants to putting its criminal history records online. Also of interest are files, 1990-1992, on the Firearms Hotline.
