Dr. Adell Patton, Jr.'s papers contain materials created between 1970 and 2016. This
collection includes course materials, such as course syllabi, lecture notes, slides used in
lectures, and handouts; oral histories on audio cassette with doctors and other medical
practitioners predominately from African countries; photographs; research notes; and
professional correspondence.
Subjects represented in this collection include West African history; the history of
medicine, medical study, and medical practices in Africa; the Ningi Chiefdom; slavery; and
civil rights.
