This collection primarily consists of letters from Aldo Leopold to Sarah Elizabeth Jones
from 1945 to 1948. Sarah (sometimes spelled Sara) Jones was an assistant at the Arboretum in
Madison, WI, and worked closely with Leopold on the phenology project. Jones and Leopold
coauthored A Phenological Record for Sauk and Dane Counties, Wisconsin, 1935-1945 published
in Ecological Monographs Volume 17, Issue 1, in 1947.
