Structure of the Collection

The Kathryn Clarenbach papers are divided into 6 sub-series:

Series 41/4/4/4/1: National Organization for Women
Contains material from the National Organization for Women collected by Clarenbach during her association with the organization (1966-1986, 4.3 c.f.). Boxes 1-5 contain chapter information, Boxes 5-9 contain general information, Box 10 contains minutes, agendas and other meeting materials, and founding documents, Boxes 11-13 contain material on conferences, the equal rights amendment, and correspondence.
Series 41/4/4/4/2: Governor's Commission on the Status of Women
Contains material about the Governor's Commission on the Status of Women (1964-1989, 5 c.f.). This collection includes correspondence, Commission reports and conference documents.
Series 41/4/4/4/3: Interstate Association of Commissions on the Status of Women
Contains material about The Interstate Association of Commissions on the Status of Women (reorganized as the National Association of Commissions for Women in 1975) (1973-1977, .3 c.f.). The organization was founded in 1970 as a national federation of official government commissions and equivalent agencies created to enhance the status of women.
Series 41/4/4/4/4: National Commission on the Observation of International Women's Year
Contains material about The National Commission on the Observance of International Women's Year (1975-1980, 7 c.f.). This Commission was created by President Ford's Executive Order to embody U.S. participation in the International Women's Year declared by the United Nations for 1975. Clarenbach served as consultant on the Commission's Arts and Humanities Committee.
