Collection of material from Father Yves Bertrais, a missionary with the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in Laos and Lomsak, Thailand. Materials includes diaries and journals; correspondence with Bertrais and the mission; drafts of Bertrais' book on White Hmong marriage and other writings of his; photographs from Thailand, French Guyana, China, Laos, and the United States; cassette tapes from 'Radio Veritas' in the Philippines; and drafts and copies of Hmong books published by the mission, including books of folktales and folklore. The bulk of the collection is correspondence arranged by country and date. The collection includes some material about the Hmong Romanized Popular Alphabet (RPA) project, some materials related to Ban Vinai refugee camp, and some materials about Shamanism.
