Series: 4. Committee Files, 1957-1997The materials in this series document the functions and responsibilities of a
few of the many committees in the Junior League of Milwaukee. The Ad Hoc
Committee, Focusing for Community Impact, analyzed the organization as a
whole to determine if the goal of training volunteers for community
improvement had been met. The Advisory Planning Committee examined the
administrative workflow through the use of organizational self-assessments,
and recommended solutions to problems. The Community Assistance Award
Committee decided upon financial grants. The Community Research and Proposal
Development (CRPD) Committee filtered potential projects. The Health and
Welfare Committee focused work on the issues of the poor and ill in the
broader community. The Provisional Committee oriented the new (provisional
class) Junior League members and trained members for community involvement.
The Trainer's Committee sought an effective means through which to create
leaders within the Junior League. Files contain handbooks, evaluations, surveys, self assessments, and meeting
minutes. Note: The "Chronology" in the Provisional Committee records provide
historical information on the League dating from 1915 to the mid-20th
century.

children, women, the ill, and the disabled is especially prominent in
projects chosen and executed by the Junior League. Files on prominent
projects such as the Blood Center and Gilda's Club are not included.
