Learning Channel, 1995 This is a documentary produced by the national cable Learning
Channel TV on the cryptosporidium water crisis in Milwaukee. It
occurred in 1993. Over 100 people with AIDS died from contaminated
drinking water because their weakened immune systems were unable to
eliminate the cryptosporidium parasite. Participants include ARCW
Executive Director Doug Nelson, Milwaukee Mayor John Norquist, and
Milwaukee Health Commissioner Paul Nannis.

the many challenges of the disease with the knowledge that lives
will be soon end. The family consists of Dawn Wolff, a woman with
AIDS, her son Nile who has AIDS and another son Sean who does not
have AIDS. Dawn was an AIDS advocate and educator during the early
years of the AIDS epidemic. The video is narrated and produced by
Neil Willenson, Executive Director of Camp Heartland.

1991-2000 : Videos are listed in chronological order. : AIDS Walk Wisconsin is organized by Vivent Health, is held in Milwaukee
and is the largest AIDS fundraiser in Wisconsin. It is an annual event,
established in 1990, at which thousands of walkers raise pledges that
support AIDS prevention, care, and treatment services in Wisconsin. From
the beginning there have been well known personalities such as public
officials, sports stars and actors as honorary chairs selected each year
to help promote the Walk. In the early years a breakfast was held with a
program featuring the honorary chairs and corporate sponsors of the
Walk. Wisconsin AIDS Walk was the original name of the event which was
changed to AIDS Walk Wisconsin along with the addition of a run for
those preferring to run rather than walk the route.

, 1992-1997 : The Make A Promise Dinner and Auction is produced is an annual gala event
held in Milwaukee that includes an auction, dinner and program at which
community leadership awards are presented to individuals and
organizations from the community that have made significant
contributions to the fight against AIDS. The event originated in 1987
when a small group of gay men decided to host a dinner to raise funds to
support ARCW services. At that first dinner they “made a promise” to
continue having a fundraising dinner every year until a cure for AIDS is
found.
