Martin J. Rosenblum Papers, circa 1965-2006

Container Title
Series: 2. Research and Writings, 1965-1991
Scope and Content Note: This series is primarily Rosenblum's research and writing on Objectivist poets, in particular Carl Rakosi. Rosenblum's research process on Rakosi is documented in this series. Also included is a product of his research, an unpublished manuscript of Rosenblum's critical biography of Carl Rakosi, completed circa 1981. [Note: in addition, Rosenblum's 1980 doctoral dissertation Carl Rakosi's Americana Poems: Objectivist Word Machines from an American Assembly Line, is available in the UWM Libraries' general collection.] This series also includes the recording, and an edited transcript, of a rare interview with Rakosi conducted by Rosenblum in August of 1974 (Rosenblum "discovered" Rakosi, who was living under a different name in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during his research process). The interview and meeting is documented by photographs taken by Maureen Rosenblum. This series also includes files compiled by Rosenblum on paracriticism, as well as some newsclippings and articles.
