Peters, Robert, 1992-1996 : “Robert was Born in 1924, the oldest of five children, and grew up on a poor
scrub-sand farm of forty acres near Eagle River, in Vilas County, northern Wisconsin.
He married and fathered four children. The author of more than thirty books of poetry,
criticism, short stories, and plays, Robert retired in 1993 from teaching literature
and writing at the University of California, Irvine. He lives in the Los Angeles area
with his companion of many years, Paul Trachtenberg.” — Will Fellows,
