Papers consist mainly of Ericson's professional working papers, although there are some
items of personal interest as well. They are organized into five series. Consultancy files
document his various consultancies and advisory work. Correspondence files reflect his
professional activities as well as his mentoring relationships with students and colleagues.
Personal materials include documentation of Ericson's early archival career, humor,
photographs, and some record of his service with the National Guard in Wisconsin.
Publications are a sampling of published works including editorials, letters, and articles.
Research and subject files include material regarding archival transfer networks in the
United States, and presentations and talks given by Ericson between 1977 and 2004. Wisconsin
Historical Records Advisory Board (WHRAB) files represent his work with that Board between
the years of 1978-2004.
The Ericson Papers do not contain significant record of his work with the Society of
American Archivists (SAA) or the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), and researchers
should consult related collections for this documentation.
