Scope and Content Note: This subgroup consists mainly of correspondence and subject files relating to Council and annual meetings. The bulk of the records dates from the 1970s.
Arrangement of the Materials: This subgroup is further arranged into groups corresponding to the terms of SAA vice presidents/president elects and thereafter by series. Since 1957, the vice president has served as president elect. In order to better reflect the continuity between an individual's service as president elect and president, the SAA archivist decided to arrange the records of presidents elect with their presidential papers. Accordingly, this subgroup was discontinued following SAA's donation of its archives to UW-Milwaukee in April 2001.
