Albert Rainovic was born on October 27, 1922 in West Allis, Wisconsin. Rainovic received an
art certificate from the American Academy of Arts in Chicago in 1951 and a B.A. in sociology
at the Wisconsin State College, Milwaukee in 1952. Rainovic worked as a sports artist for
the Milwaukee Journal from 1952-1969. He left the Journal in 1969 and worked as a freelance artist and baseball
columnist until 1980. Rainovic received a special commendation from the University of
Wisconsin-Parkside in 1971 for his "assistance to the athletics program," and had a drawing
placed in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Rainovic died in
January 1992.
