The Women's League of the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee was formed in 1929. It was
also known as the Women's League of the Milwaukee Extension Division. Membership was open to
current and retired female faculty and staff; to mothers, sisters and other near relatives
of unmarried male faculty and staff; and to the wives of current, retired, or deceased
faculty and staff. In 1956 the league merged with the Faculty Wives' Club and the Faculty
Women's Club of Wisconsin State College, Milwaukee. It then became known as the Women's
League of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
