Access Restrictions

For items that have preservation and access copies, the preservation copies are restricted. Patrons must use the access copies.

There are no other access restrictions on the materials, and the collection is open to all members of the public in accordance with state law.

The researcher assumes full responsibility for conforming with the laws of libel, privacy, and copyright which may be involved in the use of this collection (Wisconsin Statutes 19.21-19.39).

Acquisition Information

Some newspapers were transferred to the Archives by unknown donors prior to 1989. Current newspapers were collected by Archives staff for integration into the collection. The Alonzo Cudworth Post No. 23 donated The Trade Analyst newspaper in September 2016 (2016-016).

Processing Information

Christel Maass processed the collection at the Archives in July 1995. Christel Maass added additional newspapers to the collection in March, August, and September 2016. Christel Maass added a previously cataloged newspaper to the collection in February 2017. Shiraz Bhathena added the UWM Times, UWM Post, UWM Leader, and backup copies of the newspapers to the collection in December 2023. Matthew Cavenaile added new additions of Crazy Shepherd to the collection in July 2024.
