The unclassified personnel files in boxes 5-9 and 12-22, the personnel-related files in
box 33, and accessions 2006-019, 2007-008, 2009-064, 2020-023, 2020-026, 2021-032, and
2021-053 are restricted in accordance with UWM Personnel File Policy S-42. Access is
regulated by Section III.A.2 and III.A.3. Accession 2014-031 also contains some restricted
folders and the Archives may need to delay access to this accession for a reasonable
period of time to survey the records to identify protected information. Consult an
archivist for details.
There are no access restrictions on the rest of the collection, which is open to all
members of the public in accordance with state law.

privacy, and copyright which may be involved in the use of this collection (Wisconsin
Statutes 19.21-19.39).
The collection originally consisted of six separate series transferred to the Archives
before 1989. Jacqueline Lichey transferred accession 2003-68 (1) to the Archives in July
2003 and accession 2003-68 (2) in January 2004. Jacquelyn Lichey transferred additional
personnel files (accession 2005-011) to the Archives in September 2005. Jacquelyn Lichey
transferred additional records to the Archives in January 2007 (accession 2006-033).
Jacquelyn Lichey transferred accession 2009-029 to the Archives in December 2009.
Jacqueline Lichey transferred additonal materials in November 2006 (accession 2006-019).
The College of Engineering and Applied Science transferred additional materials in July
2007 (accession 2007-008) and June 2010 (accession 2009-064). The Office of the Chancellor
transferred additional materials in August 2014 (accession 2014-031). The CEAS Student
Services Office transferred additional materials in June 2019 (accession 2020-023). The
Dean's Office transferred the Dean's serial files in August 2019 and Mechanical
Engineering Department files in October 2021. The College of Engineering and Applied
Science transferred additional materials in December 2021 (accession 2021-053).
Web crawling is managed through the Internet Archive's Archive-It services. This series
includes links to both the university's collection and the Internet Archive's public
collection. Web records from UWM are collected on a semi-annual basis. Crawls of the UWM
Website may be performed at more frequent intervals in cases of major events, significant
additions or changes to the UWM Website or the websites of schools and colleges, etc.
Social Media feeds are crawled on an as-requested basis.
Jill Bambenek reprocessed the collection at the Archives during July and August 1993.
Christel Maass added some miscellaneous materials in October 1997 (boxes 10-11). Christel
Maass added three accessions of personnel files (1999-010, 1999-055, and 2001-005) to the
collection in September 2001 (boxes 12-18). Roderick Cook added accessions 2003-068 (1)
and 2003-068 (2) to the collection in May 2005. Diana Giordiano processed accession
2005-011 in January 2006. Rachel Arndt processed accession 2006-033 in June 2007. Adrian
Zink and Matt Sherman processed accession 2009-029 between April and September 2010.
Charles Welborn processed additional material in August 2012. Hayley Jackson updated the
finding aid to include information about accessions 2006-019, 2007-008, and 2009-064 in
August 2013. Hayley Jackson updated the finding aid to include information about accession
2014-031 in September 2014. Brad Houston and Claire Dinkelman updated the finding aid in
April and July 2017 to include information on the Web Series. Christel Maass added a
videocassette, removed from a School of Business accession (2010-053), to the collection
in August 2017. Derek Webb accessioned unprocessed accession 2020-023 in April 2021 and
accession 2020-026 in May 2021. Derek Webb minimally processed accession 2021-032 in
December 2021. Lauran Slagle minimally processed accession 2021-053 in June 2022.
