Access Restrictions

The unclassified personnel files in boxes 36-56 and in accessions 2002-071, 2009-063, 2010-068, 2013-011, 2016-003, and 2016-032 (boxes 9-13) are restricted in accordance with UWM Personnel File Policy S-42. Access is regulated by Section III. A.2 and III. A.3. There are no access restrictions on the rest of the collection, which is open to all members of the public in accordance with state law.

Use Restrictions

The researcher assumes full responsibility for conforming with the laws of libel, privacy, and copyright which may be involved in the use of this collection (Wisconsin Statutes 19.21-19.39).

Acquisition Information

The collection originally consisted of 33 processed and unprocessed accessions acquired before 1989. In October 1997 Anne Potter transferred an accession (1995-022) of personnel files. William Halloran transferred some project materials (1998-049) in 1999. An additional accession (2006-013) was transferred in 2006. The College of Letters & Science transferred accession 2011-029 in November 2011. The College transferred additional materials in June 2010 (accession 2009-063), August 2013 (accession 2013-011), July 2016 (2016-003), and February 2017 (accession 2019-032). Dept. of Philosophy personnel files were transferred to the Archives in January 2003 (accession 2002-071) and Dept. of Psychology personnel files were transferred in June 2011 (accession 2010-068). The Libraries' Collection and Resource Management Division transferred some additional materials to the Archives in January 2019.

Processing Information

Mark A. Vargas processed the collection at the Archives between November 1992 and January 1993. Christel T. Maass added the unclassified personnel file accession (1995-022) to the collection in November 1995. Christel T. Maass added accession 1994-011, as well as miscellaneous materials collected in the Archives, to the collection in November 1996 (boxes 57-59). In October 1997 Christel T. Maass added some additional boxes of miscellaneous materials to the collection (boxes 60-63). Jeremy Brett added the personnel files from 2001-022 and 2002-074 (boxes 68-77) to the collection in November 2006. Jeremy Brett added a few files to the series (boxes 78-79) in January 2007. Jenny Juno processed accessions 1998-049 and 2006-013 in January 2008, under the supervision of Brad Houston. Charles Welborn processed additional material in August 2012. Wen-Ling Lo processed accession 2011-029 in June 2013 as part of a fieldwork project with National Taiwan Normal University. Christel Maass updated the finding aid to include information about accessions 2002-071, 2009-063, 2010-068(2), and 2013-011 in September 2013. Charles Hosale added two folders of processed records from the dribble file in September 2014. Phyllis Reske processed some additional materials in July 2016 (Brad Houston supervised). Brad Houston updated the finding aid to include information about accession 2016-003 in August 2016. Ashlie Biddle updated the finding aid to include information about accession 2016-032 and separated restricted information within the accession. Christel Maass processed the materials received from the Libraries' Collection and Resource Management Division in February 2019 (box 84).
