: The Department of Commerce and Finance handled the problems of commercial and
industrial businesses faced due to the war, including transportation and
commercial economy, and also helped with waste elimination. This series
contains correspondence, reports, minutes, and planning documents. Also
included are materials for the Non-War Construction Committee, which oversaw
any type of building and remodeling going on in Milwaukee County in order to
ensure materials and energy were not being used unnecessarily.
