This series contains materials on the specialty groups of the AAG, typically
correspondence, annual reports, and newsletters. Specialty groups serve
several functions, such as focusing on specific geographic topics,
sponsoring professional activities, and providing networking opportunities.
Some specialty groups began as committees or task forces (e.g. the Chinese
Specialty Group developed out of the Committee on Chinese Geography). See
Series #4 for the relevant committees or task forces.
