Access Restrictions

There are no access restrictions on the materials, and the collection is open to all members of the public in accordance with state law.


Use Restrictions

The researcher assumes full responsibility for conforming with the laws of libel, privacy, and copyright which may be involved in the use of this collection (Wisconsin Statutes 19.21-19.39).


Acquisition Information

The American Geographical Society donated the New York records (pre-1978) to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Libraries in 1978 as part of its entire map and library collections. The American Geographical Society Library transferred the post-1978 records in 2012.


Processing Information

Bob Jaeger processed the collection in January 2010 (Michael Doylen supervised). In the summer of 2014, Bob Jaeger and Sarah Steinbacher reprocessed the collection and added additional files, dividing the series between where the records were created: New York and UW-Milwaukee. In 2016, Susan Peschel added 23 additional card files, including a substantial amount of clipping files, to the collection. In 2017 Isabelle Lipton added additional files to the collection.
