Wilhelm Breustedt (1854-1927) was born in Germany and emigrated to the United States
in 1882. The following year, he married Wilhelmine Behling. She was born in Germany
in 1862 and came to the U.S. in 1867. Wilhelm worked as a mason and contractor. The
couple lived in southeast Wisconsin and had four children: William (1885-1972), Ella
(1891-1954), Alfred (1895-1965), and Helen (1900-1991). The postcards in this
collection typically involve these four siblings.
