Edwin B. Wilson was born 3 July 1897 in Thiensville, Wisconsin. He had a passion for
railroads and began a life-long hobby of photographing locomotives at a young age.
From 1917 to 1927, Wilson worked as a motorman on Milwaukee streetcars and was then
promoted to work on the interurban lines. He later operated an electric locomotive
that hauled coal to the Lakeside Power Plant in St. Francis. Wilson retired in 1962.
He was also a member of various organizations, including the Great Lakes Maritime
Institute, Wisconsin Electric Railway Historical Society, and Midcontinent Railway
Historical Society. Wilson died 9 October 1977.
