There are no access restrictions on the materials. The collection is open to all in accordance with state law. The public may view Local History Manuscript Collections by appointment at the Central Library. To request an in-person appointment, create/login to your Special Collections Account. Acquisition Information

The collection was donated by Clara Uihlein Trostel in 1943, whose late husband, Albert Trostel, had long been a German Theater benefactor. Materials accessioned as a Local History Manuscript Collection.


Processing Information

Processed by faculty and staff of the Max Kade Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison beginning in November 2007 and concluding in April 2008. The collection was reboxed by Casey Lapworth and Bob Jaeger in 2022; more titles were also added to the collection at this time.
