in accordance with state law. The public may view Local History Manuscript
Collections by appointment at the Central Library. To request an in-person

The collection was donated by Clara Uihlein Trostel in 1943, whose late husband,
Albert Trostel, had long been a German Theater benefactor. Materials accessioned
as a Local History Manuscript Collection.
Processed by faculty and staff of the Max Kade Institute at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison beginning in November 2007 and concluding in April 2008. The
collection was reboxed by Casey Lapworth and Bob Jaeger in 2022; more titles
were also added to the collection at this time.
