Abstract: Annual reports, including school censuses, submitted by school district clerks and teachers to the County Superintendent of Schools. The census section provides names and information about persons less than 20 years of age residing in the school district, some family information, and student attendance and enrollment. The annual report section provides aggregate statistical information regarding number of students, teacher salaries, enrollment figures, and financial statements. Some school district's records do not include annual reports from the 1940's and later. Records for that time period consist of census reports only. Alphabetical by location/name of school district, and thereunder numerical by school district number.

Tax rolls typically include a legal description of the property, name of the owner, assessed valuation, tax levied, and a record of payment. This series is comprised of tax rolls from the Town of La Pointe for 1859-1870 (except 1864); Town of Bayport, 1863-1865, plus tax rolls from most civil divisions, every tenth year from 1880-1950, and every fifth year from 1955-2000.

Abstract: Records of the Associated Milk Producers Inc., Morning Glory Farms Region (AMPI-MGF) Abbotsford, Hillsboro, and Madison plants and of a predecessor company, Madison Milk Producers Cooperative Association. AMPI-MGF was a dairy cooperative that marketed and produced dairy products throughout Wisconsin and other Midwestern states. In 1986, the Mid-States Region of AMPI merged with Morning Glory Farms to form AMPI-MGF region, resulting in membership of over 12,000 family dairy farmers. However, most of the records pertain to the history of AMPI-MGF's Madison plant, which was the main location of a predecessor company, Madison Milk Producers Cooperative Association (MMPCA). This collection documents the activities of dairy marketing and production, relations with its members, and tracks the various mergers and organizational changes focusing mainly on activities of central Wisconsin, especially the Dane County and Madison area. The collection consists of administrative records, which include minutes, by-laws, financial documents, organizational correspondence, and materials about related divisions, including the Monroe, Wisconsin based Cheese Producers' Marketing Association (CPMA). Also included are legal documents and disputes, membership materials, marketing materials, photographs, some negatives, and films.

Abstract: Records of the Associated Press Managing Editors (APME) Association, an advisory organization (1931- ) aimed at facilitating good working relationships between the officers of the Associated Press (AP) and the managing editors of its member papers. Included are correspondence, printed committee and study group reports, financial records, newsletters, working papers, speeches and addresses, photographs and audio recordings documenting the activities of the organization. There are also files pertaining to individual AP managing editors and officers of the APME; major files include those of Don Earl Carter, Ernest Cutts, Victor Hackler, Wendell C. Phillippi, David N. Schutz, Harry L. Sonneborn, Gilbert P. Smith, and Mason Walsh.

Abstract: The Associated Students of Madison Sustainability Committee collection contains a variety of documents and ephemera related to the activities of the eponymous student organization between 2018 and 2022. During this period the Committee organized various demonstrations and actions conceding the sustainability of university activities and in particular the behavior of its fundraising and investment practices. The collection contains planning documents, photographs, and signs, pamphlets, and banners from various demonstrations.

The documents include event files, staff training materials, meeting notes, and promotional materials. Associated Students of Madison is the official student government body of UW-Madison. It is composed of both elected student representatives and professional staff.

Abstract: Records, mainly 1939-1977, of the Associated Unions of America (AUA), a labor organization which was formed in 1939 as the Wisconsin Association of Independent Unions and which eventually represented factory and office workers in independent company unions throughout the the midwest; AUA, whose members included a large proportion of women, became part of the Office and Professional Employees International Union in 1972. Most extensively documented are locals comprised of office and professional employees of Bucyrus-Erie, Cutler-Hammer, Four Wheel Drive Auto Company, Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, and the Old Line Life Insurance Company, although some files concern factory workers employed by companies such as Appleton Coated Paper Company. Several files concern labor activities at Milwaukee Electric Railway and Light Company prior to the formation of AUA. The union's bulletin, AUA Report, is available on microfilm in the Society Library.

Abstract: Compiled records, 1912-2003, of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJ), an organization concerned with improvement of journalism education in the United States. The collection is an artificial creation consisting of a variety of material primarily from officers and members of the AEJ, the American Association of Teachers of Journalism and the American Association of Schools and Departments of Journalism (AASDJ). In addition, there is a significant amount of information concerning the National Council on Education for Journalism and the American Council on Education for Journalism, in which the AASDJ participated. The AEJ records constitute an important source of information on the development of journalism education in the United States. Oral history interviews with prominent AEJ members supplement the collection.

Abstract: Records of both the Madison Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) and its umbrella organization, the Association of Church Musicians (ACM). The Madison chapter of the AGO first organized in 1947 as the Wisconsin Association of Church Musicians (WACM) and incorporated as a chapter of the national Guild of Organists in 1953. In 1984 the AGO was integrated into the ACM. The group organized annual programs such as the Pipe Organ Encounter, Church Music Day, and its annual choir festival, and was also responsible for establishing the Louise Fulcher Memorial Library of Sacred Choral and Organ Music in 1949 and procuring a chapel organ for the Wisconsin Veterans Hospital in 1966. The bulk of the material in the collection was produced in the course of planning the various AGO-sponsored events, registering its members, and carrying out its standard administrative functions. Also included in the collection are the papers of Ruth Pilger Andrews (1905-1996), the Madison chapter's founding member.

Abstract: Records, 1947-2015, of the National Conference of Editorial Writers, founded in 1947 and renamed the Association of Opinion Journalists in 2012. In 2015, it was reorganized as a 501c3 nonprofit foundation for the education and development of opinion journalists in all media. In 1981, the National Conference of Editorial Writers Foundation was established "to conduct, sponsor and support educational programs and projects in the field of journalism and other opinion writers." The records consist of minutes of the Executive Board and Foundation, Board Meeting Planning materials and Administration records including constitution, mission statement, by-laws, history, past presidents, member directory and staff lists, committees, presidents' files, Foundation by-laws and articles of incorporation, correspondence, memos, and minutes. The records also contain Newsletters, Foreign Tour materials, Annual Meetings/Conventions, Minority Writers Seminar, Fundraising, and Financial materials.

Abstract: The collection features materials that date from the founding of the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions (ASAHP) in 1967. It primarily consists of papers and reports from the executive level of the ASAHP, including minutes from executive committee meetings and board of directors meetings, as well as the comprehensive agenda books that were distributed at the latter. The collection also reflects the publishing activities of ASAHP as represented in the Journal of Allied Health, Allied Health Trends (later Trends), ASAHP Update, and the many reports and findings produced by the ASAHP throughout its existence. The collection also contains occasional committee reports, ASAHP photographs, and materials from the annual conference.
