Anthony, a Bedford County, Virginia, minister, farmer, and merchant, consisting of yearly tax receipts, accounts with suppliers showing prices of general merchandise and drugs, charges by blacksmiths, detailed cost of building a gristmill in 1820, tobacco sales from his farm, county court settlements of debts, and an indenture of 1867 dividing Anthony's property. One volume contains his store accounts for 1821 to 1823; a record of marriages performed by Anthony in the Virginia counties of Bedford, Campbell, Franklin, and Pittsylvania, 1829-1836 and 1841-1863; and a list of male residents in his district. |

Among Polonsky's papers are manuscripts of his novels and stories; scripts for radio, theater, televsion, and motion pictures, including documentation for his highly-acclaimed film, Tell Them Willie Boy Is Here (Universal, 1969); and diaries of his personal life, 1951-1967. |
Abraxas Press Woessner, Warren | Title: Abraxas Press records, 1966-1992 Quantity: 2.0 Linear Feet 2 record storage cartons Call Number: Collection ZX Abstract: Records of Abraxas Press, a small press located in Madison, Wisconsin, dating from 1966 to 1992. The majority of the collection consists of materials pertaining to ABRAXAS, a little magazine published by Abraxas press, which featured work by American poets, such as Charles Bukowski. Records include the original manuscripts of poems and other writings sent to the magazine for review, mockups for forthcoming issues, and correspondence between editors and contributors, as well as correspondence between the editors, Warren Woessner and Ingrid Swanberg. Also included is information about grants for which the press applied and other writings, including miscellaneous poems and a manuscript for Essays and Dissolutions by Darrel Gray, published by Abraxas Press in 1977. |
