Biography/History

The American Legion, formed in 1919, is a voluntary, fraternal organization of men and women who have served in the United States military during times of military conflict since World War I. The American Legion Auxiliary was formed at the same time, and consisted of the female relatives of veterans who wanted to help promote the same causes as the Legion, namely patriotism and community service. The Kuoni-Reuter Auxiliary Post 167 was formed in 1926 in conjunction with the American Legion post of the same name and serves the Sauk City and Prairie du Sac areas.
