Abstract:
Papers of Edward H. Farrington, a professor of dairy science at the University of Wisconsin, including correspondence, materials on the dairy industry, and family papers. The correspondence includes both personal and business correspondence with his brothers, Oliver C. Farrington, curator and geologist of the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, and Wallace R. Farrington, governor of Hawaii (1921-1929), as well as with others. The materials concerning the dairy industry include articles, speeches, annotated manuscripts, clippings, documents relating to his patent for a butter tester, and lantern slides of equipment. The family papers include family photographs and ephemera. The collection also contains a scrapbook relating to the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, 1893, and a copy of the will of Stephen M. Babcock, University of Wisconsin agricultural chemist.
