Papers of a Milwaukee industrialist and former Republican governor who served in elective office from 1938 through 1942. The papers chiefly relate to Heil's public career and consist of chronologically-arranged correspondence, speeches, press releases, campaign briefing books, microfilmed biographical clippings, memorabilia, photographs, and other miscellany. Although much of the correspondence is routine, there are several letters from prominent individuals such as Frank Knox, Frances Perkins, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harold Stassen, Henry L. Stimson, Alexander Wiley, and Wendell L. Willkie. English
