Abstract:
Research papers compiled by Dorothy Skuldt, nee Randall, of Madison, Wisconsin, primarily documenting her mother's relatives who, after living in New England and Mid-Atlantic states for most of the eighteenth century, settled in south-central Wisconsin in the latter half of the nineteenth century. Best documented are the families of Bell and Randall, both having moved to Wisconsin between the 1870s and 1890s and settled in the towns of Shopiere, Beloit, and Janesville; less extensive are her files on the families of Austin, Clark, Culver, Dye, Haviland, Skuldt, Swingle, Van Bommel, Van Vranken, and Yates. Included are news clippings, correspondence with genealogists and relatives, research notes, and rough family trees. In addition there are some photographs, many of which are identified; they include portraits, group shots, and pictures of churches and family homes.
