Abstract:

Proceedings (1942-1943, 1948-1950, 1952-1957, and 1970-1996) of school board regular bi-monthly and special meetings, including agendas, minutes, monthly financial reports, and correspondence related to activities of the Lac du Flambeau Public School Board. Topics include student funding, approval of regular financial expenditures, faculty hiring, Board nominations, and construction and maintenance of schools. Many records contain information about the large Native American population of the town, the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. The children of this band made up a large percentage of the district's student population. Information regarding this group specifically includes many letters from the Board, petitioning for state and federal aid.
