Irene (Marlow) Gibbon, long-time school teacher and resident of Dodgeville, Iowa County, Wisconsin, joined VISTA in 1968, at the age of sixty-nine. She spent more than a year in Butler County, Kentucky, organizing a number of self-help projects, such as a used-clothing store.
