Papers of Democratic State Senator and U.S. Congressman Lynn Stalbaum, representative of Wisconsin's 21st Senate District from 1954-1963 and the 1st Congressional District from 1964-1965. (Stalbaum unsuccessfully ran for re-election in 1966 and 1968.) The collection documents his political career, especially his campaigns, as well as issues of interest to his constituents. Included are press releases; newsletters; clippings; speeches; campaign materials; photographs; legislative, topical, constituent, and campaign correspondence; statements and testimony before committees; and project files. Of note is a file devoted to Stalbaum's work as chairman of the “Wisconsin Harriman for President Committee” containing Stalbaum's correspondence and Averell Harriman campaign material. English
