Abstract:
Collection of political campaign ephemera collected by Jim Baughman, a University of Wisconsin professor in the School of Journalism, principally consisting of United States presidential campaign buttons from 1896 (William McKinley/William Jennings Bryan) through 2012 (Barack Obama/Mitt Romney). The collection includes cased buttons maintained in Baughman's original arrangement by presidential campaign. Also included are loose campaign buttons and ephemera from both national and Wisconsin state elections as well as a few non-Wisconsin items.
