Works of Milwaukee, Wisconsin artist Fritz Gerlach, the bulk of which consists of 152 watercolors. Also included are 5 sketch books, 1 bound volume focusing on his life and work in Milwaukee, 1 family record for the Mason family recording births, marriages, and deaths, notes for a historical presentation on the women's liberation movement, 5 miscellaneous prints and sketches, and 1 color photograph of Gerlach. The majority of the watercolors are divided into seven subject areas including the Apostle Islands, Fritz and Mathilde Anneke, the Gerlach family, Increase Lapham, Juliette Kinzie, Dr. Kate Newcomb, the women's liberation movement, and other miscellaneous Wisconsin subjects all of which relate to and act as illustrations for historical topics on which Gerlach and his wife lectured.
