Abstract:
Color lithographs, from the "Survivals of the Past" series, 1924, by Dora M. Batty, published by the London Underground, printed by John Waddington Ltd., primarily featuring royal guards and landmarks, corresponding to Underground stops. The posters were produced for display in the interior of the cars, and inside and outside the buses and trams. Batty designed posters for the Underground Group and London Transport from 1921 to 1938. In the 1920s and 1930s, Batty designed more posters for London Transport and the Underground than any other female artist.
