Abstract:
Two copies of an album containing salted paper prints of prominent Wisconsin men and one woman, published by Madison, Wisconsin, photographers Johnson and Fuller, in 1856. The subjects are all individuals who had settled in Wisconsin during the 1830s. Photographs are tipped into the albums and include caption information. The images are bound in slightly different order in each album; a few images are missing from copy 2; a couple of images in copy 1 have been replaced by copy drawings of prints. These volumes are from an edition of one hundred published by Johnson and Fuller, nearly all of which were destroyed in a fire.
