Family Welfare Association (Fond du Lac, Wis.) Records, 1910-1961

Biography/History

On April 27, 1910, the Associated Charities of Fond du Lac was founded and incorporated by the Reverence B. Talbot Rogers and Anna Giffin Sweet. The association was the result of a general effort to co-ordinate the various churches and charitable agencies in the city to contront realistically some of the more obvious social problems and to give these efforts the organizational framework within which to function effectively. In July 1921 the name of the organization was changed to the Public Welfare Association, and in 1938 to the Family Welfare Association of Fond du Lac.
